• As Boko Haram fighters surrender in fresh push against terrorism

In a series of decisive operations across Nigeria, the Nigerian Army has intensified its campaign against terrorist and criminal elements, resulting in multiple victories.

Troops dismantled an IPOB/ESN hideout in Enugwu Umuonyia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Following a firefight, the terrorists fled, abandoning weapons, ammunition, and vehicles, which were swiftly recovered and destroyed by the military.

On October 9, 2024, a notorious gunrunner, Mathew Caleb, was arrested by troops in Plateau State during a precision stop-and-search along the Mangar-Bokkos Road.

The troops intercepted firearms and ammunition, preventing their delivery to criminals in Bokkos.

Additional arrests were made in the area, leading to the capture of armed robbers and motorcycle snatchers.

In the ongoing fight against Boko Haram, 15 weary fighters and their families surrendered to troops in Borno State.

Meanwhile, two terrorist logistics suppliers were apprehended in Damboa, with materials used for producing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) confiscated.

Another supplier transporting drugs to Boko Haram was captured in Mainahari village.

Elsewhere, the military rescued hostages in Zamfara and Kebbi states following intense firefights with kidnappers, and in Benue State, a wanted criminal was arrested with ammunition and cash.

The Nigerian Army continues to commend the support of civilians in its mission to eliminate threats to national security, reaffirming its dedication to securing the country.
