Nigerian Air Force C-130 Aircraft Lands Safely in Banjul En Route to Portugal

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its C-130 aircraft, which made a precautionary landing in Burkina Faso last week, has safely landed in Banjul, The Gambia, as it continues its journey to Portugal for scheduled depot maintenance.

The aircraft had been on a ferry flight to Portugal when it made a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, due to a technical concern.

The NAF had stated that the landing was in line with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols.

After diplomatic engagements between Nigerian and Burkina Faso authorities, the aircraft was released, and it resumed its journey to Portugal via Accra, Ghana, and Banjul, The Gambia.

The NAF confirmed that all personnel on board were safe, and the aircraft remained serviceable.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, expressed appreciation to the host authorities in Ghana, The Gambia, and other countries overflown for their support.

The NAF reassured the public of its commitment to the highest standards of safety and professionalism in all operations. The service thanked Nigerians for their concern and goodwill expressed during the incident.
