Nigeria Navy moves to strengthen relationship with NCS

The Nigerian Navy has expressed readiness to strengthen relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), especially in the area of anti-smuggling.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Awwal Gambo, stated this during a courtesy visit to Customs Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

Vice Admiral Gambo who was at the Customs Headquarters with his management team, also harped on the leadership quality and guidance of the Comptroller General of Customs, thanking him “for the cordial relationship between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigerian Navy, especially in the area of anti-smuggling. You have cooperated with us very well in various forms where the Navy expected.

“I believe at the end of it, the existing mutual relationship between us and the Nigeria Customs Service will only strengthen going forward”, he further stated.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd) who received the Chief of Naval Staff appreciated the Navy chief and his management team. “

The Comptroller General of Customs also stated: “The Navy has been of tremendous help to the Nigeria Customs Service especially in the areas of maintaining and advising us on our crafts. We now have two crafts and the Navy agreed to come in and not only maintain but to train our officers, who will eventually go on water patrol.”

The Chief of Naval Staff was treated to a colourful guard of honour.
