The federal government of Nigeria has expressed sympathy and condolences to the families, people and government of the Arab Republic of Egypt over the unfortunate terrorist attack that killed 11 military personnel in the Sinai Peninsula, on 7th May, 2022.
In a statement by spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca K. Omayuli (Mrs), the Nigeriang described the attack as heinous and condemnable act.
It further stated that the attack reinforced the importance of strengthening the collective efforts of the international community towards the elimination of terrorism and all forms of extremism from our societies.
The statement added that Nigeria stands in solidarity with Egypt in these trying times and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed, and the speedy recovery of the injured.
