From Amgbare Prince in Yenagoa
A prominent youth leader in the Niger Delta, Engr.Solomin Olali, has commended the Managing Director and CEO of Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for his visionary leadership and significant developmental achievements.
In an interview with journalists in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Olali commended Ogbuku’s track record, describing him as an astute administrator, seasoned politician, and dedicated public servant.
He highlighted Ogbuku’s tenure as Chief of Staff to former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva, noting that his leadership has repositioned the NDDC to fulfil its mandate as an interventionist agency addressing the region’s infrastructure deficits.
“Dr. Ogbuku has given the NDDC a new lease of life with people-oriented projects and programs aimed at improving lives,” Olali said.
He cited initiatives such as the Light Up Niger Delta Solar-Light project, scholarship programs, medical outreaches, road construction, youth empowerment, and the construction of a Corpers Lodge in Agbura as evidence of Ogbuku’s impact.
Olali expressed confidence that more transformative projects in health, education, skill acquisition, and infrastructure are forthcoming.
Olali also praised Ogbuku for aligning the NDDC with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing transparent and accountable management of funds.
“The NDDC, once seen as a conduit for financial mismanagement, is now a key driver of the president’s agenda,” he said.

Olali predicted more recognition would follow, stating, “The results are monumental, and the achievements speak for themselves.”
Expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Ogbuku, Olali called the decision a “blessing” to the Niger Delta and the nation.
He urged Ogbuku to maintain his open-door policy, remain receptive to feedback, and continue collaborating with stakeholders, including traditional rulers, women, and youth groups, to drive further development.
Olali also congratulated Ogbuku on his recent 50th birthday, praying for renewed strength and wisdom to lead the NDDC to greater heights.
“His novel approach to development is a clear departure from the past, and the future looks bright,” Olali concluded.
