Messages of commiseration have continued to pour in for the publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE online newspaper, Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo, on the death of his mother, Madam Aishetu Ojeifo.
Madam Ojeifo died on Saturday, October 12, 2024, two months to her 92nd birthday (December 12, 2024) in her residence in Owo, Ondo State, from a brief illness.
There have been outpourings of empathy, sympathy, encouragement and prayer for THE CONCLAVE publisher from significant people and friends from around the globe in the aftermath of the development.
Mr Eze Anaba, President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and longtime acquaintance of THE CONCLAVE publisher, on Saturday night, commiserated with Mr Ojeifo and his family on the transition of their mother and prayed that the Almighty God would receive her into His Bosom.
The Oragun of Oke-Ila, Oba Dokun Abolarin, congratulated Mr Ojeifo on the passing of his mother, saying that “although, it is always very painful to lose a dear parent, I must congratulate you because you are the one burying your mother and not vice-versa. My brother, Oj, this is a celebration of life. It is not the time to mourn. Your mother lived a fulfilled life. You took very care of her. I pray that she would find rest in the Bosom of her Creator.”
Founding chairman of APGA, Chief Chekwas Okorie; former presidential spokesperson, Dr Doyin Okupe; editor of THISDAY on Sunday, Mr Davidson Iriekpen; a retired Director of Information in federal civil service, Mr Hassan Timmon Dodo; editor of Sunday Vanguard, Mr Wale Akinola; editor of Sunday Tribune, Mr Shina Oladeinde; an editor at Daily Trust TV, Hamza Idris; a Lagos-based businessman, Pastor Ayo Kolawole; and a media consultant, Mr Stanley Nkwazema, touched base with Mr Ojeifo on Saturday.
The burial plans for Madam Aishetu Ojeifo would be announced soonest, according to the family.
