New light was at the weekend being shed on the death of a popular Ibadan-based businesswoman, Adeshina Olayinka, in Wetland Hotel with insinuations of the death being related to ritual killing, according to a report by GWG.
The insinuation of the death being ritual-related came as debate raged at the weekend over the propriety of the hotel, releasing the CCTV images of the man that allegedly lodged with the businesswoman.
GWG.ng had reported that the popular Instagram cloth vendor, popularly known as Khadi, was found dead at a hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Olayinka was known for her designer clothes and bag business on social media.
GWG.ng had reported that the deceased informed her friend of a meeting with an individual at Wetland Hotel in Akobo on the night of Wednesday, April 5.
The man she was with, however, checked out early on Thursday morning, which was followed by a phone call to Khadi’s room, and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist
Unfortunately, Khadi was found dead hours later when the receptionist reached out to inform her she was already overstaying.
The hotel management, in reaction, noted that they were fully in cooperation with the Nigeria Police in their investigation to ensure that the truth about the cause of the deceased’s death was upheld.
Meanwhile, Oloriebiblog, the Instagram blogger that broke the news of the death of Khadi, has meanwhile insinuated that the death may have been related to rituals. The blog, which quoted a source, however, did not give any clue as to the insinuations.
The twist is coming in the wake of comments that a previous death occurred in the hotel two weeks before the latest incident.
Besides, pressure is being put on the hotel to release the CCTV images of the man that had lodged with Khadi and who the hotel claimed checked out before the discovery of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the police have yet to issue a public statement on the death of the businesswoman in the Ibadan hotel. (Culled from GWG)
