According to Director, Army Public Relations Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, speaking on Monday, December 9, 2024, during a meeting with Principal Staff Officers at Army Headquarters, the COAS outlined his vision following the completion of his formal assumption of command as the 24th Chief of Army Staff.

He highlighted his commitment to bolstering troop morale and providing essential support, drawing from insights gained during his recent visit to the Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI in the North East.

“The Nigerian Army is acutely aware of the fluid and rapidly evolving security landscape. Commanders must devise innovative solutions to end terrorism and insurgency in volatile regions,” Oluyede stated.

Earlier, Major General Ohwonigho Akpor, Chief of Administration, described the ceremonial retirement of the old NA flag to the Army Museum as a solemn tradition, symbolizing the transition of command.

This leadership transition signals a renewed focus on addressing security challenges with creativity, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to national peace and stability.
