Officials from NEMA, alongside other key stakeholders, warmly received the returnees, providing initial support and guidance to ensure their reintegration process commenced seamlessly.

The group comprised 98 adult females, 41 adult males, 85 male children, and 86 female children.

This demographic composition underscores the vulnerability of women and children, who made up the majority of the returnees.

The reception operation involved multiple organizations, including National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Refugee Commission, International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Nigerian Immigration Service, Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA Kano), Department of State Services (DSS) and other relevant stakeholders.

NEMA and its partners have pledged to follow up with the returnees to ensure their successful reintegration into society.

Plans are in place to collaborate with local authorities and non-governmental organizations to provide necessary support, including healthcare, education, and vocational training.

This successful exercise reflects the effectiveness of multi-agency collaboration in addressing humanitarian challenges and delivering positive outcomes for displaced populations.
