NDLEA seeks support of Nigerian Army in fight against drug abuse, trafficking

The State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Rivers State Command, Usman Ali Wadar, has pleaded for the support of 6 Division Nigerian Army in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

He made this appeal during a courtesy visit to 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt.

Usman stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship which had existed over the years between the Army and NDLEA as he sought the collaboration and support of 6 Division NA in tackling the issue of drug abuse and trafficking which had become a global concern.

He further expressed his gratitude to the General Officer Commanding for approving the courtesy visit.

The General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Sani Gambo Mohammed assured the State Commander of the NDLEA of 6 Division NA’s support and cordial relationship with the institutions in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s mandate of continuous partnership with sister agencies.

Present at the event were the Deputy State Commander, NDLEA, Rivers State Chapter, Barth Aigbirere, Assistant State Commander Investigation NDLEA, Rivers State Chapter, Benneth Uche, and Principal Staff Officers of 6 Division Nigerian Army among others.

Highlights of the event were the signing of visitors books and the presentation of souvenirs.
