The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has signed an international management agreement with Radisson Hospitality Belgium and Edison Hotel and Property Development Company for its 204-room hotel and conference centre located beside the Nigerian Content Tower in Swali, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The agreement was signed on Monday in Durban, South Africa, by NCDMB Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Edison Executive Chairman Mr. Vivian Reedy and Radisson Director Mr. Garnier Erwan. The facility is scheduled to open in December 2026.
Ogbe stressed that the deal came after more than two years of intensive discussions, reviews and strict compliance checks. He lauded the pivotal approval granted by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, explaining that the support guaranteed full alignment with Nigeria’s legal and regulatory framework.
The NCDMB chief expressed confidence that the project would deliver a state-of-the-art hotel complete with a modern conference centre, specifically designed to serve oil and gas industry players and the wider Nigerian public.
He urged Radisson Hospitality to leverage its international expertise, systems and brand power to ensure top-notch service and memorable guest experiences.
He noted that the initiative mirrors NCDMB’s strategic focus, adding that the hotel will drive productivity, attract fresh investments, deepen local content development and open new doors for business and tourism across the country.
“When completed, the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Yenagoa will stand not only as a hotel, but also as a symbol of what strong partnerships can achieve.’
Edison Executive Chairman Mr. Vivian Reedy commended the collaboration, highlighting his organisation’s role as the essential bridge between owner and operator.
He stressed that success in hospitality goes far beyond bricks and mortar.
“A successful hotel is not just about buildings. It is about disciplined management, strong oversight, brand integrity, and a shared commitment to excellence,” Reedy emphasised.
He assured stakeholders that the Yenagoa property would emerge as the foremost hospitality and conference destination in Bayelsa State, acting as a powerful catalyst for investment and a beacon of international standards.
Reedy also reported impressive past results with Radisson elsewhere, including occupancy rates of up to 95 per cent.
Mr. Wada Ahmed Wada, representing the Attorney-General of the Federation, described the signing as a historic milestone and wished the partners sustained success in the venture.
