The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), has graduated 100 Nigerian youths from a six-month Technical and Vocational Training Programme, equipping them with skills in eight high-demand trade areas.
The close-out ceremony took place on Friday at the Raw Materials and Research Development Centre (RMRDC) in Abuja.
The initiative, part of NCDMB’s Human Capacity Development efforts under its 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, aims to address skill gaps in the oil and gas industry and related sectors.
Participants, selected through a transparent process involving computer-based tests and oral interviews via the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGIC-JQS), were trained in fields including Automation and Mechatronics Technology, Building Technology, Electrical/Electronic Technology, and Mobile Phone Repairs.

Representing NCDMB’s Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Barr. Dan Kikile, General Manager of Human Capacity Development, described the programme as a milestone in fostering skills, resilience, and national growth.
He highlighted the demand-driven nature of the training, aligned with industries like oil and gas, construction, renewable energy, and digital manufacturing, urging graduates to pursue continuous learning and innovation.
ITF Director General, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin, who officially opened the ceremony, underscored the role of vocational training in national development and commended NCDMB’s partnership.
The collaboration reflects NCDMB’s commitment to building a skilled local workforce, promoting entrepreneurship, and reducing unemployment to drive economic growth.
