Nationwide Protests: Oba of Benin calls for patience amid economic hardships

His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin, has urged patience amid the current economic hardships.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the announcement followed an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) held in Abuja on Monday, 22nd July 2024.

The Omo N’ Oba appealed to the public to give the Federal Government sufficient time to implement economic policies designed to alleviate the present difficulties faced by Nigerians.

His Royal Majesty emphasized that improvements often followed periods of challenge.

Additionally, he called on those planning the August 1st to 10th nationwide protests to reconsider their plans.

He further urged the Federal Government to expedite the implementation of its economic and security measures.
