[Press Release] The National Integration Group is deeply saddened and troubled by the recent outbreak of violence in Plateau State, which resulted in the tragic loss of 115 innocent lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and communities affected by this senseless act of violence.
We strongly condemn these heinous acts and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to promoting unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic and religious groups in Nigeria. Such wanton violence has no place in our society and runs counter to the principles of harmony and respect that we uphold.
In this difficult time, we call upon all citizens to remain calm and to resist any temptation towards reprisal or further violence. We urge all parties to embrace dialogue and peaceful means of conflict resolution as the only way to address grievances and build a more harmonious society.
We implore the government and relevant authorities to take decisive action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in Plateau State and across the nation. Perpetrators of these acts must be swiftly brought to justice, and measures should be taken to prevent future occurrences of such tragic events.
