Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has announced that Air Nigeria will take off in April 2022.
Sirika disclosed this on Wednesday after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Sirika said that it was the sixth time the matter was brought before the cabinet for consideration.
He said the federal government would acquire only five per cent equity in the airline while other Nigerians would get 46 per cent.
According to him, strategic partners including foreign airlines would be identified to take up the remaining 49 per cent equity.
The minister said that the national carrier, when operational, would create about 70,000 jobs for Nigerians.
