A prominent politician in Kogi State, Barrister Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who, not too long ago, defected from the Social Democratic Party, SDP, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the primary election conducted by the PDP for the Kogi Central Senatorial District ticket.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, wife of Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, cousin to former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, polled a total of 159 votes to defeat her rival in the contest, Alhaji Mahmood Atta, who polled a total of 13 votes.
Recall that she had contested the governorship election of Kogi State on 16 November, 2019 as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Earlier in 2019, Natasha ran for the post of Kogi Central Senatorial District on the platform of the SDP.

Brilliant and politically savvy, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is very popular with her people in Egbira land in the Kogi Central Senatorial District may well be on her way to Nigeria’s Senate in 2023.
A close watcher of the PDP senatorial candidate said she had great potential and the intellectual wherewithal to deliver on her legislative mandate and agenda in the National Assembly.
“She is going to a whole lot of things differently to project her Senatorial District through her utilitarian and robust representation,” he said in response to her emergence as PDP’s candidate, adding that “the PDP platform is a solid and popular platform in Kogi State.”
