Secretary to the Directorate of Information and Research of the National Assembly, Mr Ali Umori, has congratulated the Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, John Alfa, on his elevation to the rank of professor.
Mr Umoru described the new Professor John Alfa as a visioner and leader.
Professor Alfa, according to Umoru, was the pioneer director of pharmaceutical services at the National Assembly Medical Centre.
He said that Alfa was the first Deputy President of PSN (2003- 2006), former Chairman of NIPRD Gorverning Board and currently the Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Bingham University, Auta Balefa, Nasarawa State.
Umoru stated that Alfa’s full professorial chair was approved by the Governing Council of the University on 20th March 2025.
An elated Umoru, who was a deputy director under Professor Alfa, enjoined all friends and well wishers to join in celebrating and congratulating the “newest professor.”
He said that Professor John Alfa had shown a deep sense of commitment to research; hence, his elevation and honour
“For this great achievement, the stage has been set for more scientific and pharmaceutical breakthroughs,” he charged the new Professor.
He added: “I am particularly proud of your achievement, continue to soar like the Eagle, my Professor.”
Prof Alfa is a recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit, NPOM, award.
