[Press Release] The National Assembly Service Commission [NASC] has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Odo as the Clerk of the Senate.

The Commission also elevated Mr. Ibrahim Sidi as the acting clerk of the House of Representatives.

The Commission further approved the appointment and redeployment of officers into other Consolidated positions.

These were the high points of decisions reached at the Commission’s 19th meeting held [today], Monday, 20th January, 2026.

The Commission had on 16th September 2025 approved Odo’s elevation to the position of Acting Clerk of the Senate.

Prior to his appointment as the Acting Clerk of the House of Representatives, Mr.
Ibrahim Sidi was a Director of Administration in the National Assembly.

His appointment is with effect from 9th February, 2026.

He will replace Dr. Yahaya Danzariya, who will officially retire from the National Assembly Service on 8th February 2026.

The newly appointed Acting Secretaries to the Directorates are: Fortune IhuaMaduenyi (Protocol and Inter-Parliamentary Relations), Asien Fatima Nana (Zonal Liaison Offices), Engr. Bashir Layya (Estate and Works, with effect from 3rd February 2026), Siyaka Wahab Sadiq (Deputy Clerk Legislative, House of Representatives), and Dauda Bulama Bukar (Deputy Clerk Administration, House of Representatives).

Those redeployed to new positions include Mofoluwake Ogunbayo, who has been
moved from the Directorate of Special Duties and Parliamentary Security to become the Secretary of Procurement and Supplies; Kehinde Amos, who was moved from the position of the Deputy Clerk, HR (Legislative) to position of the Deputy Clerk, Senate (Legislative); Atiku Ibrahim from Procurement and Supplies to Secretary, Finance and Accounts; Vivien Njemanze from Deputy Clerk, HR (Administration) to Deputy Clerk, Senate (Administration); and Andrew Nwoba from Zonal Liaison Offices to Secretary, Special Duties and Parliamentary Security.

Apart from Ibrahim Sidi and Engr. Bashir Layya’s appointments, all other appointments and redeployments are with immediate effect.
