Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested four armed robbery suspects in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State.
A statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Nasarawa Division led by CSP Mohammed Padah, on Sunday, following a distress call.
Nansel said the suspects had attacked some student lodges and a Hotel in Gunki area of Nasarawa where they injured two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa and carted away cell phones and other items.
“Responding, Police operatives swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the injured victims to General Hospital, Nasarawa, while the criminals were given a hot chase.
“Consequently, four(4) suspects were arrested namely: Usman Abdullahi ‘M’ of Sabon Layi Keffi, Abdullahi Mohammed, Ibrahim Musa both males of Angwan Tiv Masaka and Fa’ad Idris of Jahun area of Bauchi State.
“One blood stained knife, one jack Knife, scissors, 8 Apple iPhones, 27 Assorted Android phones of different brands, 2 Laptops, 5 torch lights, 2 MP3 music players, 4 bags, 6 power banks and a cash sum of two hundred and ninety-eight thousand Naira (₦298,000) were recovered from the suspects as exhibits,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada commended the Divisional Police officer and his men for their pragmatic display of gallantry and professional dexterity.
CP Nadada urged them to sustain the tempo and assured members of the public that the Command would not relent in its effort to ensure public safety.
