The Nigerian Air Force says it has safely recovered one of its unmanned aerial vehicles after it briefly lost connection during a routine mission under Operation FASAN YAMMA.

In a statement released in Abuja on Friday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, explained that the incident happened in Sector 3 while the drone was carrying out a scheduled operation in support of counter-insurgency efforts.

According to him, once the link to the aircraft was lost and efforts to restore it failed, emergency procedures were activated immediately.

These included attempts to guide the drone back to base and coordinating with other security agencies to manage the situation.

Ejodame said the aircraft has now been secured, and recovery as well as assessment processes are underway.

Technical teams have begun initial checks in line with safety and operational guidelines.

He added that no lives were lost and that military operations across all areas continue as normal.

The Air Force also reassured Nigerians of its professionalism and commitment to ongoing national security operations.
