The Nigerian Air Force said precision airstrikes on Monday destroyed terrorist hideouts and logistics hubs along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The strikes targeted Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains, areas used as strongholds under Operation Hadin Kai. The air component carried out the operations on May 19, based on credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance missions.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, said the strikes destroyed structures, assembly areas, and supply hubs concealed within the locations. Several terrorists were neutralized and planned attacks were disrupted, he said in a statement on May 20.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Aneke said the force would sustain joint operations with other services and allied partners to eliminate terrorism and restore peace. He added that intelligence-driven air operations would continue to target hideouts, logistics networks, and operational bases across the country.
