The Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah has called for more attention to communicable diseases, so as to address the growing health challenges in Nigeria.
Professor Na’Allah bared his mind in an address on Thursday during the commissioning of blocks of building built by Sustainable Developement Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria, for the treatment of diabetics and endocrine patients at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
He commended the agency for the new department, saying “this is the first of it’s kind in Nigeria.”
The Vice Chancellor said the “one stop shop” department will play a greater role to the development of the hospital and improved on the treatment of people with classified ailements.
He admonished on the continuous training of more experts in this area and others, so as to promote world class professionals in all ramifications.
The university adminstrator congratulated the management of the Teaching Hospital and the convener of the new edifice, Professor Felicia Anumah, for her lofty and humanitarian ideas that brought about the new structure that will specialise in the treatment of diabetics and endocrine patients.
