MY THOUGHTS ON SENATOR CHRIS NGIGE’S RECENT INTERVIEW, By Senator Ehigie Uzamere

My distinguished excellency, I read through your interview today, 2nd January, 2022, in Sunday Vanguard, and you made a mistake in attempting to add PDP to your postulations. Your Party APC had a zoning pact in 2015 and your Party has no option than to zone presidency to the Southern part of Nigeria as agreed. Therefore, you should be speaking for your Party APC, and not for PDP.

Secondly, talking about zoning, PDP can pick a Northern candidate if they desire or throw their contest open without waiting for APC to name theirs because going by same zoning principle you’re preaching, the North has done only 2 years out of 16 years of PDP Presidency. It is a known fact that your party’s (APC) candidate from the North, has done 8 years come May 29th, 2023 therefore you have no option than to look to the South.

I suggest you should be canvassing your candidature as a Southerner for president. We can consider you. Or are you not qualified? Nigerians are looking forward to two candidates that are prepared to be President irrespective of party affiliation. Nigerians would then be at liberty to decide for themselves. Don’t be afraid PDP did same thing in 2015 when our party’s presidential candidate was from the South and yours was from the North. Nothing wrong if this trend is reversed. I expect you to be preaching the best to lead us and not turn-by-turn politics that breeds incompetence.

Again, I understand your game plan. But you are still learning APC game of subterfuge and deceit. The minute PDP names a Southern candidate, you’d be among the first to ask your Northern friends to preach in the mosques, how PDP has shortchanged the North by fielding a Southerner after the South had done 14 years out of 16. PDP will not fall for your cheap propaganda.

Oga Minister, please stay in your lane (APC), and don’t worry who PDP will pick and where from. Sell your Party by telling the nation what you have achieved in your Presidency. Don’t join the team of APC politicians that think of nothing else but PDP.
