Controversial musician, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and show promoter, Sam Larry, have been released from detention by the Lagos State Police Command.
They were incarcerated for the death of popular musician, Mohbad.
Both were released after meeting their bail conditions.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed their release.
Speaking via Twitter, Hundeyin said, “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
It would be recalled that a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, granted Naira Marley and Sam Larry bail in the sum of N20 million with three sureties on November 6 2023.
They were arraigned and remanded on October 6 over their alleged involvement in circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad.
The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, told the defendants to submit their passports and ordered that they report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.
MohBad died on September 12, 2023, in Lagos at the age of 27. The nurse who administered a Tetanus vaccine on him was arrested and found to be an unlicensed nurse on September 19 2023, by the Lagos State Police Command.
