The Sector 3 Multinational Joint Task Force on Friday flagged off its medical outreach in local Communities of Monguno, Borno State.
The medical iutreach is one of the Multinational Joint Task Force Civil- Military Cooperations aiming at winning the hearts and minds of the local communities for cooperation among the locals within its areas of responsibility in Nigeria.
In his welcome address, the Commander, Sector 3 Multinational Joint Task Force, Brig. Gen. GM Mutkut thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yaya and the Force Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force Maj Gen AK Ibrahim for their supports to the sector.
Brig. Gen. GM Mutkut stated that recent relocations of some Internally Displaced Persons to their ancestral homes in Baga and Kauwa was evidence of the return of peace in some communities, within the sector’ s Areas of Responsibility.
Flagging off the outreach, the Force Commander Multinational Joint Task Force, Maj. Gen. AK Ibrahim represented by the Chief G9 Civil- Military Cooperation, Colonel Antoine Hounkpe, said the medical outreach was planned for all sectors of Multinational Joint Task Force, in order to create enabling environment for understanding between the locals and the Multinational Joint Task Force in all Communities.
Free medical services such as Eye, blood, urine checks and blood pressure, blood count, dental services were offered in the communities.
Drug were also dispensed freely to the locals, the Commander Sector 3 Brig. Gen. GM Mutkut distributed 10 wheel chairs at the outreach.
Dignitaries on the occasion were Chief Center for Coordination and Liaison, Col. Richardo T Baker, Humanitarian Liaison Officer AU – Multinational Joint Task Force, Mr Tope Famuyide, SO2/MPIO HQ MNJTF Maj. Rachel Mbah, Vice Chairman and Speaker of Monguno Local Government, District Heads, Community and Religion leaders, Non-Governmental Organizations.
