Missing University of Abuja student found safe

Miss Usman Sadiya, the 100-level University of Abuja (UniAbuja) student who was reported missing on February 18, 2026, has been found safe, according to an update from the university.

In a statement issued by Dr. Mohammed M. Yelwa of the Department of Sociology, University of Abuja, it was confirmed that she was located about 11:49 p.m. and is “safe, unhurt, and in very stable condition.”

According to her account, Miss Sadiya “unknowingly entered an unidentified vehicle and was subsequently taken to an unknown destination,” the statement said, without providing further details.

The university community expressed appreciation to the institution’s Management and Safety Unit, security agencies, and members of the public for their swift response during the search efforts.

Dr. Yelwa conveyed gratitude for the concern, cooperation, and support shown throughout the period, noting that the development brings relief to family members, colleagues, and students.
