The Military Secretary (Army), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, has reiterated that discipline and character are pivotal to the career progression of officers of the Nigerian Army (NA).
According to Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 6 Division Major Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, General Oyinlola stated this while delivering a lecture entitled “Career Planning for Nigerian Army Officers” held at Lieutenant General F Yahaya Badminton Court, Port Harcourt Barracks, Rivers State.
Major General Folusho Oyinlola further stated that the lecture became necessary to enhance the capacity of the NA officers to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
He further added that the lecture was aimed at ensuring that officers were adequately equipped with the requisite tips on how best they could enhance their career in the NA.
While delivering his wellcome address, the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division Nigerian Army/Land Component Commander, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam highlighted the essence of the lecture, which he said was designed to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of the NA officers.
He further added that it would ensure the best officers that would meet the contemporary requirements of the profession were groomed.
He also added that this would ensure the requisite manpower was developed, efficiency at work, and most importantly, job satisfaction was achieved.
The one-day event was attended by Brigade Commanders of the manoever 2, 16 and 63 Brigades, respectively.
It also had in attendance commanders of 6 Division affiliated formations and units with officers drawn from all formations and units within 6 Division Area of Responsibility.
