Microsoft is reportedly set to lay off about 9,000 employees in a new round of job cuts.
According to CNBC, the layoffs would affect less than 4 per cent of the company’s global workforce and would cut across multiple departments, levels, and geographies.
“We continue to implement organisational changes necessary to best position the company and teams for success in a dynamic marketplace,” a spokesperson for Microsoft was quoted to have said in an emailed statement.
Internal sources told CNBC that the company was seeking to flatten its management structure and make teams more agile.
