A Magistrate’s Court in Jos on Wednesday sentenced a 47-year-old mason, John Chigozie to six months in prison for stealing a cooking pot .

The Magistrate, Irene Pati, who sentenced the convict, after he pleaded guilty to the charge, however, gave the convict an option of a fine of N30,000

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported on Jan. 29 at the Agada Biu Police Station by one Tina Jonathan, the complainant.

Gokwat said that the convict went into the house of the complainant and stole the aluminium pot valued at N15,000 before he was caught.

He said that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.
