An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, on Monday, sentenced a 47-year-old man, Abbey Olabiyi, to 18 months in the correction center for breaking into a base station of a telecommunication company.
Olabiyi, whose address was not provided, pleaded guilty to the charges of burglary and conspiracy when arraigned.
Subsequently, the Magistrate, Mrs A.O.Adeyemi, in delivering judgment, sentenced the convict to eighteen months imprisonment without any option of fine.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraoye had told the court that Olabiyi and others still at large committed the offences on Dec. 9, 2022, at 2. 45 a.m., at the IHS mast site at Baba Kwara area, Iloye in Ota.
Adaraloye said that Olabiyi and his accomplices conspired to break and enter into the IHS mast site with the intention to steal.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 413, 415 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.(NAN)
