Residents of Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State were left in shock on Monday evening following the gruesome killing of a man by his brother.
The suspect, identified simply as Emmanuel, allegedly beheaded his stepbrother, Daniel, near the Origbara River, throwing the community into confusion and fear.
Witnesses described the scene as horrifying and said the motive behind the act remained unclear.
“Till now, we don’t know what actually transpired between them that could have led him to kill his stepbrother,” a resident said.
Both men are reportedly sons of a well-known local vigilante, popularly referred to as “Awilo.”
A police source confirmed the incident to The Hope newspaper, though details about the arrest or current whereabouts of the suspect remained sketchy as of press time.
