A 53-year-old man, Babalola Waheed, on Friday appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly defrauding two visa seekers of N3 million.
The defendant, of no fixed address, was charged with fraud.
The prosecutor, DSP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 2, at Ijoko area, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant defrauded two visa seekers – Olayiwola Mumeen and Oluwafemi Adetona, by obtaining N3 million on the pretext of procuring German visas for them.

He added that the defendant converted the money to his personal use.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O Fadairo, granted the defendant N1 million bail with one responsible surety in like sum.
She ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
