Man, 45, in court over alleged possession of adulterated milk

The police, on Wednesday, charged a 45-year-old man, Eze Ernest, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged possession of adulterated sachet peak milk.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a two-count charge of possession of impure sachet milk and adulteration of sachet milk.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large committed the offence on June 5 at about 10:30 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti.
Oriyomi alleged that the defendant had in his possession sachets peak milk which are unfit for consumption, with intent to sell as food or drink.
He said that the defendant and others now at large, adulterated the sachet milk with intent to sell.

NYCN calls increased youth participation in politics, governance

The offences contravene the provisions of section 173(1) and 173(2) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until July 10, for hearing.
