Osun State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) workers have been admonished to maintain the age-long principle of anonymity in service, without compromising their absolute loyalty to the new government in the State.

The admonition was given on Wednesday by the Coordinating Director in the Commission, Barr. Lekan Babalola in his remarks at the annual inter-religious prayer organised to usher in the new working year.

“As government workers, we are supposed to be seen and not heard; The principle of anonymity must be strictly maintained along with total loyalty to the government in power, even as we are supposed to support all government in power at all times”, the Coordinating Director said.

While harping on the need for deeper commitment to work, Barr. Babalola clarified that workers must not only be punctual, in timeliness and regularity, but must also be meticulous enough not to shirk their responsibilities.

The Career Head, who used the medium to amplify the Governor’s recent directive on environmental and office cleanliness, further emphasized the need for staff to be neatly and well dressed at all times, advancing, “the way you choose to dress determines the way you will be addressed.”

Quoting from the holy scriptures, Hebrews 12:14, the accounting officer in the Commission, expounded the need to be peaceful and loving towards co-workers, counselling: “Let’s love each other like family members, sharing one another’s problems and burdens at work.”

Highlight of the programme was the special intercessory prayer sessions, in both Islamic and Christian ways, for the success of the new government.
