Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been handed a one-match suspension and fined £8,000 for confronting match officials after his side’s Premier League loss to Manchester City.

The Football Association announced this in a statement on Friday.

Following City’s 1-0 victory at Leeds last month, Farke approached the referee immediately after the final whistle and was shown a red card, with assistant manager Edmund Riemer describing his actions as “too aggressive.”

“Daniel Farke subsequently admitted the charge against him and accepted the standard one-match suspension and £8,000 fine.”

Leeds are currently 15th in the Premier League and will host Norwich City, a team Farke previously managed, in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
