Abia PDP’s 2027 governorship hopeful is backing the party’s NWC and calling for unity.
Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Abia State, on Saturday congratulated the Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman-led National Working Committee after the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal filed by the Taminu Turaki group.
He delivered the message in person during a visit to Wadata Plaza, PDP’s national secretariat.
*“The ruling is timely and decisive”*
Anosike described the appellate court’s decision as a relief for worried party members.
“I am here at Wadata Plaza to congratulate our National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman; the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and indeed the entire NWC and PDP family over the Court of Appeal ruling delivered today,” he said.
“The ruling is timely and decisive. For those who were concerned about the matter, it is now obvious that there is nothing to worry about, as the leadership of our great party is not in doubt.”
He also commended the NWC for conducting what he called “rancour-free primaries” across all 36 states and the FCT ahead of the 2027 elections.
–Olive branch to losers–
With primaries done, Anosike turned to internal reconciliation. He urged aspirants who lost to accept the outcome and work with winners.
“Let me also use this opportunity to urge those who did not emerge victorious in the primaries to accept the olive branch being extended to them and work together with the successful candidates to ensure victory for the party at the 2027 polls.”
The Abia candidate expressed confidence that PDP will emerge “stronger and more united” after the court decision, and charged party faithful to focus on reclaiming power and delivering good governance to Nigerians.
