● Legal practitioner Nkemakolam Ukandu petitions NJC June 1, says FCT CJ reassigned ADC leadership suit despite apex court directive
Legal practitioner Nkemakolam Ukandu has petitioned the National Judicial Council, accusing the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice John Tshoho, and Justice Lifu of contempt over the reassignment of the ADC leadership case.
In the petition dated Monday, June 1, 2026, Ukandu alleged that Tshoho and Lifu reassigned the suit between Nafiu Bala and Senator David Mark, and accepted it at the Federal High Court level, despite a subsisting Supreme Court order.
According to the petition, the case was originally before another judge at the Federal High Court. Ukandu argued that removing it and reassigning it amounts to “clear disobedience” of the apex court’s directive on the matter.
