LASEMA confirms Lagos aircraft crash, says all four victims alive

In response to an air crash and subsequent fire at Oba Akran Ikeja area of Lagos State, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has swiftly activated its disaster response plan.

The incident occurred at approximately 1600hrs.

According to Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Agency, “the helicopter (aircraft) carrying four individuals, including the pilot, crash-landed in front of the United Bank of Africa branch on the road.”

Oke-Osanyintolu said all four individuals involved in the crash had been successfully rescued from the aircraft and were alive.

“They have been promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for further medical attention,” he said.

Oke-Osanyintolu added that to ensure public safety, the area surrounding the crash site had been cordoned off, and emergency responders were present on the scene, working diligently to prevent any potential secondary incidents.

“The situation is being closely monitored and managed by LASEMA as part of their disaster response efforts,” he stated.
