Lagos LG vice chairman dies about two months in office

The Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Oluremi Ajose, has died barely two months in office.

Reports said that Oluremi, who is the daughter of the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom, Oba Oyekan Ajose, died in a brief illness.

Sources close to the family on Sunday disclosed that Oluremi’s remains had been deposited in the morgue pending when burial rites would be concluded.

The Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government and Secretary of Conference57 Chairmen in Lagos State, Usman Hamzat, who confirmed the development, described the vice chairman’s death as shocking and a monumental loss to the state, particularly the council.

He added that the deceased was an exemplary leader who dedicated her life to grassroots governance, community uplift, and service to humanity, leaving behind legacies that would remain indelible.
