The leadership of Edo State Chapter of Labour Party (LP) has knocked Governor Godwin Obaseki for peddling fake news of LP’s alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Saturday’s House of Assembly election, declaring that there was nothing of such.
The LP leadership said, “The governor is politically and electorally leprous and must be avoided like a plague.”
Labour Party’s State Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi in a press statement in Benin City on Tuesday chided Governor Obaseki for planting his moles in the Labour Party (LP) who are holding some tickets for House of Assembly poll across the 18 Local Government Areas.
He said he did that while he was busy destroying PDP that rescued him from the hangman’s noose after he destroyed the All Progressives Congress (APC) that sponsored him to be governor in 2016 on a patter of gold.
Comrade Ogbaloi gave the list of Obaseki’s moles in Labour Party who were later removed from the party’s tickets when it became clear that the governor sponsored them to hold the party hostage.
Obaseki’s moles whom he placed in the Labour Party as candidates, according to Ogbaloi, were as follows: Esohe Igiede Aghameogie, Omoregie Victor Nosa, Osehiloise Aigbe Uduebor, Egbemereka Phillip Oses, Ibrahim .A. Abdulsalim, Osikhena Musa Shaka, Oleje Aideloje Alexander.
He said the Labour Party’s authentic candidates for the Saturday election were: Dr Edosa R. O., Derick I. Uhunwmagho, Agbonisen Osariemen, Osaigbovo . M. Orobosa, Victor. O. Igbineweka, Peter Ola Omoregbe, Orobosa Agbonlahor Lucky, Hon. Idemudia Jegede, Hon. Mrs. Isoken Tongo, Orobosa Igbinadolor, Hon. Eromosele Ose, Obehi Ayodeji Ayemere, Hon. Clifford Inegbedion, Hon. Camilius Okosun, Barr. Louis Ojomon, Ogbebulu Ohenhen. M, Hon. Waziri and Engr Aidenomon Akhidime.
Comrade Ogbaloi further stated that Governor Obaseki, having sensed that his plot to swindle and overturn the Labour Party failed, had quickly instituted lawsuit against all the LP candidates at the Federal High Court in Benin, seeking their disqualification from the race, including those who had already been elected.
“We urge Edo citizens, members of the Labour Party and Obedient adherents in the state who have been traumatized by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s destructive administration to punish the PDP and the APC this week Saturday alike in the quest for building a new Nigeria”, Comrade Ogbaloi said.
