Criticism against same faith ticket has come from an unusual quarters and this should be worrisome to the relevant quarters.

Founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Church, Dr William F. Kumuyi, who rarely engages in public criticisms of government, political parties and their activities has lent his voice in opposition to Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian presidential ticket.

Kumuyi was quoted to have said in an interview with reporters in Ilorin that “the APC presidential standard bearer, Bola Tinubu, and his party took that slippery way to make Borno Senate and ex-Governor Kashim Shettima his running mate.”

Kumuyi, according to a report by Whirlwind Online, said that politicians should always consider the desires of Nigerians when making decisions, particularly as they did not elect themselves into office.

He reportedly spoke after meeting with the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, on Thursday.

He stated: “The Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christan ticket is a difficult and slippery area. What I will say is that the political office holders should look at the heartbeat of the country, as well as desires of the people.”
