Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, on Monday, confirmed the abduction of one of their staff members.
In a statement, the University’s Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwalu said the incident occurred earlier Monday when armed kidnappers invaded the university’s main campus in Samaru, Zaria.
Auwalu further stated that the kidnappers went away with him along with his wife and daughter but the wife and daughter were later released due to exchange of fire between the kidnappers and the mobile police operatives who were invited by the University security unit.
