The Kebbi State Government has disassociated itself from an online publication calling for the resignation of Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing the author, Mallam Salihu Isa Nataro, as an impostor and political opportunist.
In a press briefing held in Birnin Kebbi, the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, stated that Nataro falsely claimed to be a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former gubernatorial aspirant in Kebbi State.
“Our attention has been drawn to an online publication by one Mallam Salihu Isa Nataro, who claimed to be a prominent member of the APC and a gubernatorial aspirant in the state, which is a blatant lie,” Idris said.
He added that Nataro is neither a registered member of the APC nor has he held any official position within the party. Idris further described Nataro’s comments as “trash credited to a nonentity,” stating that the individual is merely seeking personal gain through fictitious political claims.
“The interview he granted does not in any way represent the interest of the good people of Kebbi State nor the political class in the state,” Idris emphasized.
He reaffirmed the state’s unwavering support for the Tinubu-Shettima administration and reiterated that the people of Kebbi are firmly behind the ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The government warned against attempts to mislead the public with false narratives and assured continued backing for the current federal leadership.
