The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a member of the state executive council.
The House simply asked him to take a bow and go without asking him questions.
Mustapha is the first son of former Governor Kwankwaso and Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement Leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who was also the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
His appointment was confirmed alongside three other nominees picked by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for the position of commissioner in his cabinet.
At Tuesday’s plenary where the commissioner-nominees appeared before the House, the lawmakers, the House expressed satisfaction with their integrity and character and asked them to take a bow and go without aaking them questions
According to the member representing Doguwa State Constituency in the House, Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim Riruwai, the Assembly confirmed the nominees’ appointment because it was satisfied with their curriculum vitae, assuring that they would contribute immensely to the development of Kano State.
The House Majority leader, Lawal Hussaini Dala, who spoke shortly after the nominees were screened, explained that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Governor had, last week, forwarded to the Assembly for legislative screening and approval the four nominees, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Abduljabbar Umar Garko, Shehu Usman Aliyu, and Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He said part of the requirements for appointment as Commissioner was to be a Nigerian, not below 30 years of age, and with no criminal records.
Governor Yusuf had also formally communicated to the Assembly his administration’s decision to establish four new ministries, to wit: Humanitarian, power, solid minerals, and Internal security.
