A former Abia State Governor and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has commended Governor Nyesom Wike’s outing in the race for thd presidential ticket of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Wike came second behind Atiku Abubakar at the primary election, giving polled 237 votes to Atiku’s 371 votes.
The primary election took place at the National Stadium in Abuja on May 28, 2022.
Kalu, who had earlier congratulated Atiku on his victory and urged his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to field Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as its presidential standard bearer from the same northeast zone with Atiku to square up with him, said Wike deserved to be commended.
Read his post on his Facebook page: “Even though I am a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, I must say that I’m proud of Governor Nyesom Wike’s performance, tenacity and courage.
“Yes, he lost, but he fought gallantly. I congratulate and commend his doggedness at the just concluded PDP presidential primaries.
“I can only say that Wike is the winner of the game for defiling all odds to come second.
“Take a bow, Nyesom Wike!”
