The Kaduna State Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Sunday, approved the appointment of two new Chief Registrars for the State High Court of Justice and Sharia Court of Appeal.
The two new appointees are: Mr Benjamin Hassan, for the High Court of Justice and Mr Muhammad Ali, as the Chief Registrar, Sharia Court of Appeal.
Mr Murtala Halidu, the Secretary of the JSC, said in a statement in Kaduna that the commission, under the chairmanship of the Chief Judge, Justice Muhammad Aliyu, approved the appointments.
According to Halidu, the appointments were made after careful consideration of the track records, demonstrated competence and ability to perform the required duties.
Other appointments included the Deputy Chief Registrar of the State High Court of Justice, the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal, the Director of Administration and the personnel of the Sharia Court of Appeal.
He said that the commission also approved the promotion of 154 staff, change of cadre for 20 staff, two conversions and one advancement.
“Additionally, the commission has introduced written examination and interview for individuals aspiring to be appointed as judicial officers.
“The commission will also commence written promotion examination for staff on Grade Level 07 and above,” Halidu said.
He said that the commission congratulated the recently appointed officials on their new roles.
The secretary added that the new appointees have been charged to apply their wealth of experiences in the legal practice in enhancing efficiency and transparency in performing their duties.
