In a significant development in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against banditry and terrorism, the notorious criminal figure, Boderi Isyaku, has been neutralized in a gun battle along with some of his cohorts.
According to the State Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, this achievement was attributed to the unwavering support provided to security forces by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.
Boderi Isyaku, infamous for his acts of terror and violence spanning nearly a decade in Kaduna State and neighboring Niger State, met his end in a confrontation with troops of the Nigerian Army in the Bada/Riyawa general areas of Chikun and Igabi Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Aruwan said confirmation of this breakthrough was provided to the Kaduna State Government by security forces engaged in internal security operations, corroborated by human intelligence sources.
Under the coordination of Major General VU Okoro, the troops engaged Boderi and his fighters in a successful operation characterized by meticulous planning and intelligence gathering.
Despite the terrorists’ fortified position, the troops laid a successful ambush, leading to the neutralization of Boderi and two of his associates.
Following the operation, the troops recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK47 rifles, 300 rounds of ammunition, nine AK47 magazines, one magazine carrier, one Baofeng radio set, and five motorcycles.
Boderi Isyaku’s elimination marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and banditry in the region, showcasing the effectiveness of coordinated efforts by security forces.
Known for his ruthlessness and involvement in high-profile kidnappings and deadly attacks, Boderi Isyaku had long evaded capture, posing a formidable challenge to law enforcement agencies.
Expressing his satisfaction with the development, Governor Uba Sani commended the bravery and professionalism of the troops involved, particularly praising Major General Okoro for his leadership.
He reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting security forces in achieving their objectives.
In light of these events, authorities and the public are urged to remain vigilant, as some of Boderi’s associates may still be at large with gunshot injuries sustained during the encounter.
Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals to security agencies promptly.
