• Arrests three suspects in connection with the killing of two citizens

Following the violence that occurred on Sunday night and Monday in the Sabon Garin-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA, resulting in two fatalities and six injuries, the Kaduna State Government has banned social activities associated with the incident.

Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, stated that the decision was made after a comprehensive evaluation of the security situation by the military, police, and Department of State Services, as well as an emergency meeting with traditional and religious leaders in the area at the 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna.

Aruwan also announced that social activities such as Kidan Bishi, Kidan Gala, and Hunting expeditions, which were formerly practised in the community, were now prohibited.

“In addition to the killing of two citizens, six persons were injured and are presently receiving medical attention. Several vehicles and properties were also destroyed,” Aruwan said.

Governor Nasir el-Rufai praised the quick intervention of the military and police in containing the violence in the affected area.

The governor also reassured the families of those who lost their loved ones that a conclusive investigation would be carried out.
