Morocco made history as they became the first-ever African nation to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals after a 1-0 win over Portugal.
Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winner near the end of the first half as the Atlas Lions turned in another incredible display to make the last four and set up a game against either England or France.
But while there was joy for Morocco, there was pain for Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates as they were sent home at the quarter-finals stage again.

Sofyan Amrabat to BBC 5 Live: “It’s really unbelievable, I’m so proud. It’s like a dream – unbelievable we’re in the semi-final.
“We deserve this, 1000%. How we fight, how we play, with our heart for our country for the people – it’s unbelievable. Our spirit, we have injuries, three defenders came in and how they defend, big respect.
“Respect everyone, the coach, the team, the staff.
“It was like we played at home, thank you for all the people.”

The celebrations are set to go on long into the night.
It’s fair to say that Pepe is furious with FIFA’s choice of referee.
Speaking to Portuguese press, he said: “It is inadmissible that an Argentine referee whistled at us today after what happened yesterday, with Messi complaining.
“After what I saw today, they can now give the title to Argentina.”
Nigel Adderley on talkSPORT commentary hit the nail on the head with his review of that Morocco win.
He said: “This is one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history. And in a World Cup full of shocks, this trumps all of them.”
For all the talk of Ronaldo being on the bench, he did absolutely nothing when he entered the field.

No matter what happens in the semi-finals, this day will long in the memory of those connected with Morocco and African football.
Even Shakira has got in on the act.
This is truly an incredible day.
This World Cup just gets better and better on the field.
And in contrast, the agony for Portugal. (Talksport.com)
