The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has paid a surprise visit to Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday night.
A source in the presidential candidate’s convoy said Tinubu had earlier visited the President at his residence in the Presidential Villa and afterward decided to make a surprise call on Osinbajo alongside Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu in his office.
According to the source, Osinbajo was in a meeting with Senator Kabiru Gaya, former Defense Minister Retd Major General Dan Ali, and other associates, when Tinubu came.
The visit was part of shuttle diplomacy embarked upon by Tinubu to sooth frayed nerves, reconcile with consequential aspirants that he contested against with a view to carrying them along in the presidential contest in 2023.
The Vice-president, in particular, is a product of Tinubu’s political tutelage and mentorship.
He had contested with him (Tinubu) when other members of Tinubu’s school of politics, withdrew from the race and stepped down for their acclaimed leader.
